JMJ Disability Serv Pty Limited, led by the Chief Executive Officer and founder, Maria Gumban, is committed to providing high-quality disability services across Katherine, Darwin, and Queensland. Since 2018, we have been dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and ensuring they live fulfilling, independent lives and have expanded to include a staff of 200 dedicated members.

Meet Maria Gumban, CEO and Founder of
JMJ Disability

Maria Gumban is the CEO and Founder of JMJ Disability, driven by a passion to uplift vulnerable individuals through compassionate service. Born and educated in the Philippines, she studied psychology before moving to Australia, where she earned a degree in counselling. Maria’s personal life is rooted in her faith, and she is actively involved in Couples for Christ.

Before founding JMJ Disability, Maria gained valuable managerial experience in the retail and food sectors, which shaped her leadership skills. Her transition into the non-profit sector began with a role in aged care and disability services in the Northern Territory, Australia, where she found her true calling. Maria’s impact in this field has been recognized with multiple nominations for her transformative work.

As a community advocate, Maria supports local and global initiatives, fostering inclusivity and empowerment in her workforce. Her leadership at JMJ Disability exemplifies her commitment to improving the lives of the vulnerable, guided by her unwavering faith and purpose-driven mission.

Meet Earvin Alinsug, Managing Director

Earvin Alinsug is one of the driving forces behind our success, combining his passion for disability services with an unwavering commitment to community development. As the Managing Director, he has been instrumental in shaping the company’s culture of care and inclusivity.

Earvin is deeply involved in his local community. Residing in the City of Palmerston, he contributes to youth development by serving as the head coach for the under-14 boys’ basketball team with the Palmerston and Regional Basketball Association (PaRBA). His dedication earned him the prestigious City of Palmerston Community Award, recognising his significant impact on young athletes.

In addition to his community work, Earvin has made notable academic contributions. His research on student wellbeing and bullying has influenced educational practices and student health. He has published several papers and contributed a chapter to an academic book, showcasing his expertise in these crucial areas.

Earvin’s educational journey is both extensive and impressive. He gained admission to the PhD program at Flinders University, focusing on education and psychology. He holds a Master of Education specialising in cognitive psychology, a Graduate Diploma in Research Methods, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of San Carlos. Currently, Earvin is pursuing a Bachelor of Law at Charles Darwin University, further expanding his multidisciplinary knowledge.

Earvin’s leadership at JMJ Disability Serv Pty Limited is rooted in a deep commitment to providing quality services, especially to remote communities in the Northern Territory. He strives for equitable access to disability services, tailoring support to meet the unique needs of each individual. Under his leadership, JMJ Disability Serv Pty Limited remains a trusted provider of NDIS services, continually improving and empowering the lives of its clients.
